About the appeal

Qurbani is Wajib upon every Muslim who is of sound mind and can afford it. At Mission Relief this year we are offering the sacrifice of goats. Our partners carry out the Qurbani during the days of Eid Al-Adha with the correct Islamic principles. We then deliver the meat to the poor and vulnerable families in Kenya.

Religious Sacrifice FAQ’s

Mission Relief and its partners distribute the meat to poor and vulnerable families.

Qurbani or Udhiyah in Arabic, means sacrifice. Every year Muslims around the globe slaughter an animal, a goat, sheep, cow or camel, to reflect Prophets Ibrahmi’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail for the sake of Allah swt. At least one third of the meat must go to the people who are poor or vulnerable.

It is advisable to give as early as possible. The time to offer the sacrifice begins immediately after the Eid salah on Eid Al Adha and ends when the sun sets on the 13th of Dhu’l Hijjah. This is a total of 4 days of sacrifice.

Currently Mission Relief are performing Qurbani in Kenya and are offering goats as a sacrifice. We hope to expand so the next year we can perform Qurbani of more animals in other countries to benefit people further.

The price you pay for Qurbani covers the cost of the animal including the cost of slaughtering the animal and distributing the meat. You will have the option to receive a short video of the sacrifice being performed.
