About the appeal

1 in 5 people living in the United Kingdom are living below the poverty line. There is a high poverty rate among families with children due to a combination of extra costs and childcare responsibilities. This means around 4.2 million children live in poverty in the UK. This impacts single parent families more, with 44 per cent of children with lone parents in poverty.

At Mission Relief we believe that charity should begin at home. We have therefore teamed up with our partners Bearded Broz, Salma Food Bank and Zymals Catering to provide hot cooked meals to families struggling to make ends meet.

UK Food Poverty FAQ’s

How often do you provide cooked meals?

Mission Relief are currently providing a hot cooked meal twice a week which is distributed at a local food bank. This is likely to increase in the near future.

Can I distribute the food myself at the food bank?

Unfortunately, at this current moment we cannot accommodate anyone who wishes to distribute the food themselves at the food bank. We are working closely with our partners to make this possible in the safest way.

Where is the food distributed?

Currently we are distributing within the Birmingham region.
