Missed a fast?
Fulfill your Islamic obligation with peace of mind and help those most in need.
— (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:184)
Islam provides a means for those unable to fast due to valid reasons to compensate through Fidyah and Kaffarah. By contributing, you not only fulfill your religious duty but also support those in desperate need. Your donation will provide essential food assistance to impoverished families who struggle to secure even a basic meal.

Fidyah & Kaffarah FAQ’s
If you are unable to fast due to illness, old age, or any valid reason and cannot make up the missed fasts later, you are required to pay Fidyah. The amount is used to feed the poor and ensure that they receive adequate nourishment.
Fidyah is £5 a day
Kaffarah is required when a person deliberately breaks a fast without a valid reason. To atone for this, one must either fast for 60 consecutive days or, if unable, feed 60 needy people for each fast broken.
Fidya is given when a person intentionally misses a fast for a valid reason, whereas Kaffarah is required only when a fast is broken without a valid excuse. The Fidya amount for each missed fast is equal to feeding one person, while Kaffarah requires providing food for 60 people.
You’re supposed to pay it before you miss a fast, or before Ramadan if you know you can’t participate for the whole month.
Fasting during Ramadan is a mandatory duty for all capable Muslims and one of the five pillars of Islam. When a fast is missed, whether for a valid reason or not, Muslims are required to offer either Kaffarah or Fidyah accordingly.
